On a frigid Halloween night at John Henzes Veterans Memorial Stadium, Dallas executed a disciplined, balanced performance to defeat Valley View 17-0 in a game dictated by wind, defense, and field position.

The first half saw both teams struggle to sustain drives. Strong gusts affected passing, punting, and even short kicks, turning the contest into a battle for every inch of turf. The scoreboard remained 0-0 at halftime, as each defense held firm and neither offense found rhythm in the challenging conditions.

Momentum shifted in the third quarter when Valley View was flagged for consecutive unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, gifting Dallas 30 yards and a first-and-goal opportunity. The Mountaineers capitalized on the very next play when Nico Wilk powered through the line for a 2-yard touchdown. Later in the quarter, quarterback Logan Geskey connected with Wilk again, this time on a 9-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead to 14-0. Kicker Brandon Miller added a 26-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring and seal the shutout.

Dallas leaned on its rushing attack throughout the night. Senior running back Sam Kelley was the workhorse, carrying 24 times for 115 yards while consistently moving the chains. Talan Geskey added 34 yards on 11 carries, while Wilk contributed both a rushing and receiving touchdown. Quarterback Logan Geskey completed 4 of 12 passes for 46 yards, with Mark Saracinaj and Wilk combining for Dallas’s 46 receiving yards.

Valley View’s offense found little room to work against the Mountaineers’ defense. Sophomore Tyler Muchal led the Cougars on the ground with 13 carries for 75 yards and added a 15-yard reception. Junior fullback Jeffrey Wasilchak ran five times for 15 yards and caught one pass for a short loss. Quarterback Caleb Brown went 5-for-18 for 29 passing yards while adding 3 yards on the ground. Junior Ben Evans led Valley View’s receivers with two catches for 22 yards.

Dallas’s defense was the story of the night, holding the Cougars to just 122 total yards and forcing an interception late in the fourth quarter to end Valley View’s final drive. The Mountaineers’ front seven clogged running lanes and generated consistent pressure, forcing quick throws and keeping Valley View pinned deep in its own territory.

Despite the score, Valley View’s defense had strong moments. Linebackers Wasilchak and Connor Jenner made key tackles in the middle, while the secondary battled to contain Dallas’s short passing game. Both special teams units also faced the brunt of the night’s strong winds, with Valley View’s Braden Loff and Dallas’s Brandon Miller adjusting their punts and kicks to the swirling air.

Adding to the atmosphere, both school bands and drill teams performed in full costume, bringing a lighthearted touch to an otherwise physical and chilly Halloween matchup.
