Dallas High School opened their 2025 baseball season in commanding fashion with an 11-1 win over West Scranton on Tuesday afternoon. The Mountaineers wasted no time getting on the board, putting up six runs in the first inning and never looking back.

Junior shortstop Connor Healey led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Sophomore Kaden Coyne also impressed, collecting two hits, two runs, and an RBI in his varsity debut. Brady Youngblood added to the offensive surge with a clutch hit that brought home three runs.

On the mound, senior Aaron Patton set the tone early, striking out seven and allowing just three hits over three innings of work. Junior Dominick Zangardi closed the game, striking out four over two scoreless innings.

West Scranton struggled to generate offense, with their lone run coming in the second inning. Matt Lesh, Cole, and Williams each recorded a hit, while Russo scored the Cavaliers’ only run.

The win gives Dallas a 1-0 start to the season. They’ll look to build on this momentum in their next matchup, while West Scranton will regroup and aim to bounce back in their upcoming game.
