Crestwood Blanks Wyoming Area to Advance to District Final

The Crestwood Comets punched their ticket to the District 2 Class 4A championship game with a commanding 10-0, five-inning win over Wyoming Area in Monday’s semifinal matchup at home.
The Comets set the tone early with two runs in the first inning and broke the game open with a seven-run second. They added one more in the third and kept Wyoming Area off the board to secure the mercy-rule victory.
Senior pitcher Chris Litchkofski was dominant, throwing a complete-game one-hitter with seven strikeouts and five walks over five shutout innings.
Zack Stavish led the Crestwood offense with a 2-for-3 performance and three RBIs. Chase Galella added two hits and two RBIs, while Jaxson Fedak, Jacob Feisel, and Caleb McManus each drove in a run.
Wyoming Area’s lone hit came from Jacob Snyder, who also started on the mound. He and reliever Kristian Pugliese combined to allow 10 runs on seven hits.
With the win, Crestwood advances to face Mid Valley in the District 2 Class 4A championship game.
