Carolyn Comitz delivered one of the most complete performances of the 2025 season, racking up six RBIs on a 4-for-4 day as Dallas Mountaineers Varsity Softball rolled to a commanding 10-0 win over Berwick on Tuesday. Her performance also carried historical weight—Comitz surpassed the 100 career hit milestone, a major achievement recognized by teammates and coaches following the game.
Comitz came through early and often, putting Dallas on the board in the bottom of the first with a two-run double to set the tone. Her bat stayed hot with an RBI single in the second, and she sealed the deal in the sixth with a towering three-run home run to center field to enforce the run rule.
In the circle, Nina Barrouk was electric. The senior ace struck out 10 over six shutout innings, allowing just one hit and one walk. Her command was sharp throughout, keeping Berwick hitters off balance and the base paths empty.
The Mountaineers put up a five-run first inning, highlighted by Comitz’s double, a two-run single from Emma Eick, and an RBI single by Giovanna Smacchi. They added insurance in the second on Comitz’s RBI single and padded the lead further in the third with a run-scoring double from Sydney Haydu.
Dallas closed out the game in the sixth on Comitz’s three-run blast—her 100th career hit arriving emphatically via long ball.
Offensively, the Mountaineers compiled 11 hits. Comitz led the way with her four-hit effort, while Haydu and Alyssa Traver each collected two hits apiece. Defensively, Dallas stayed sharp, turning one double play to help preserve the shutout.
Berwick’s lone hit came from Makayla Brown, who also started in the circle. Brown went 1-for-3 at the plate and pitched 5.1 innings, allowing 10 runs (nine earned) on 11 hits while striking out five.
With the win, Dallas continues to gain momentum as the postseason approaches, showing strength both at the plate and in the circle. For Comitz, this game not only added to the win column—but marked a milestone moment in a standout career.
