No. 2 seed Valley View left no doubt in the District 2 Class AAAA semifinal Friday afternoon, storming past No. 3 Dallas with a 12-2 victory in six innings. Powered by Taylor Cawley’s all-around dominance and a momentum-shifting grand slam from Emily Moyles, Valley View punched its ticket to the championship game in convincing fashion.

Cawley was in control from the start, launching a two-run homer to center in the bottom of the first to open the scoring. She later added an RBI double in the third and an RBI single in the fourth, finishing 3-for-4 with four RBIs. In the circle, Cawley held Dallas to two runs (one earned) on five hits across five innings while striking out nine and walking just one.

The turning point came in the third. After RBI doubles from Cawley and Maggie Hallett put Valley View up 4-1, the Cougars loaded the bases for Moyles. Coach Mia, coaching third, shouted across the infield, “There is no one better here.” The very next pitch — Moyles crushed a grand slam to center field, blowing the game open and sending Valley View’s dugout into celebration mode.
