Cawley, Moyles Launch Valley View Into District 2 AAAA Championship With Rout of Dallas

No. 2 seed Valley View left no doubt in the District 2 Class AAAA semifinal Friday afternoon, storming past No. 3 Dallas with a 12-2 victory in six innings. Powered by Taylor Cawley’s all-around dominance and a momentum-shifting grand slam from Emily Moyles, Valley View punched its ticket to the championship game in convincing fashion.
Cawley was in control from the start, launching a two-run homer to center in the bottom of the first to open the scoring. She later added an RBI double in the third and an RBI single in the fourth, finishing 3-for-4 with four RBIs. In the circle, Cawley held Dallas to two runs (one earned) on five hits across five innings while striking out nine and walking just one.

Abbi Call sealed the deal with a three-run homer to center in the sixth, ending the game via the mercy rule. Call also tossed a scoreless sixth inning to close things out. She finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs and earned the save.
Valley View racked up 10 hits, with Hallett and Ella Swingle also posting multi-hit efforts. Cora Castellani scored twice and swiped three of Valley View’s four total stolen bases.
Dallas was led by Lia Riley’s solo home run in the fourth and an RBI knock from Nina Barrouk in the fifth. Barrouk, who also started in the circle, allowed nine runs (seven earned) over four innings and struck out seven in the loss.
