Crestwood’s girls lacrosse team exploded offensively in a statement 18-4 win over Lake-Lehman behind a commanding performance from junior standout Gia Caporuscio, who tallied five goals, one assist, and a ground ball in the rout.
Caporuscio set the tone early, slicing through the defense with precision and pace, while the supporting cast brought balance and energy on both ends of the field. Addie Knorr also stepped up with a four-goal effort and grabbed three ground balls, complementing the attack with poise and aggressiveness.
Crestwood dictated possession for most of the game thanks to midfielder Hannah Ziegler, who filled the stat sheet with one goal, one assist, seven draw controls, and six ground balls. Her dominance on the draw gave Crestwood repeated chances to push the pace and pile on the goals.
Jackie Gallagher contributed a pair of goals and two ground balls, while Jordan Andrews had a well-rounded night with one goal, two assists, six ground balls, and one draw control. Ella Novelli added a goal and an assist, with two ground balls, and Gabby Carlin found the net once and secured a ground ball. Defensively, Mackenzie Kovaleski and Amelia Pesta each gathered four ground balls to help lock things down in transition, while Morgan Colo and Kate Gallagher added one apiece.
Between the pipes, Lexi Zabrosky anchored the defensive effort with seven saves and three ground balls to hold Lake-Lehman to just four goals.
Lake-Lehman was led offensively by four different scorers: Olivia Oliver, Olivia Corcoran, Adi Ferris, and Sara Waznack each found the net once. Despite facing constant pressure, goalkeeper Cacance Kendrick made 10 saves to limit the damage where she could.
Crestwood improved their rhythm and spacing throughout the game, executing clean clears and rotating through offensive sets that allowed their shooters to step into high-percentage looks. The chemistry between the midfield and attack was on full display, and their ability to win 50/50 balls made the difference across four quarters.
