Penn State women's basketball guard Moriah Murray has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Murray, a 5-foot-8 guard from Dunmore, Pennsylvania, began her collegiate journey at Drexel University in 2022 but transferred to Penn State before appearing in any games. After sitting out due to NCAA midseason transfer regulations, she made an immediate impact in the following season.
During the 2023-24 campaign, Murray played in all 35 games, averaging 4.3 points per game while shooting over 35% from beyond the arc. Her strong debut featured 10 points, five assists, three rebounds, three steals, and a block.
In the 2024-25 season, Murray emerged as a key starter for the Lady Lions. She started 27 games, averaging 10.4 points, with 2.6 three-point field goals made per game, and shooting nearly 38% from deep. She also contributed 2.7 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game.
Highlights of her season included a career-best 28-point performance in the opener against Bucknell and draining eight three-pointers in a standout win against Michigan State.
Her leadership and shooting ability were bright spots during a tough 10-win season for the Lady Lions. Murray’s departure marks the fifth player leaving the program this offseason.
Murray is the fifth Lady Lion to enter the portal this offseason, joining Talayah Walker, Alli Campbell, Grace Hall, Rachael Rose and Gracie Merkle
Her next move will undoubtedly be closely watched as one of the top three-point shooters available in the portal.
