MOOSIC, PA — On one of the biggest stages in local high school baseball, Nick Bradley delivered a lights-out performance as Abington Heights cruised to a 15-0 victory over Valley View on Friday night at PNC Field.
Bradley was untouchable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over five innings while allowing just three hits and zero walks in a dominant complete-game shutout. Backed by explosive innings and sharp defense, the Comets put on a complete team display in prime time.
Abington broke the game open in the second inning, putting up eight runs behind timely hits and aggressive base running. Thomas LaCoe sparked the rally with a three-run triple, and Derek Locker added a two-RBI single to extend the lead.
The Comets stayed hot in the sixth, adding six more runs capped by a three-run triple from Finn Goldberg and an RBI double by Bradley to help seal the win.
Carson Bird also threw a shutout inning in relief, adding two strikeouts and continuing Abington’s control on the hill.
Despite the tough loss, Valley View’s Keith Mercatili showed bright spots, going 2-for-2 at the plate and helping turn two double plays defensively.
