When big moments call for big-time players, Nick Bradley answered with authority; putting on a show for the home crowd — striking out 16 in a dominant 8-1 win over rival Valley View.
From the jump, Bradley was untouchable. Mixing gas with pinpoint control, the righty mowed through Valley View’s lineup with a swagger that left no doubt who owned the day. Two hits. One run. Seven masterful innings. And a whole lot of frozen bats.
Bradley didn’t just shine on the mound — he got the Comets rolling offensively too, driving in the first run of the game with a clutch single in the opening frame. From there, the Comets piled on. Walks, smart baserunning, and timely hits kept the pressure dialed up.
Tate Pentasuglio and Bradley each drew key bases-loaded walks to build the lead early, while Derek Locker, Evan Gonzalez, and Conner Abel chipped in with RBIs of their own. The Comets showed off their wheels too, swiping eight bases on the night to keep the Cougars constantly on edge.
Valley View got on the board in the sixth with a solo shot to center from Jordan Andino — a brief flash of power against a day otherwise owned by Abington.
Thomas LaCoe and Conner Abel both racked up multi-hit games to fuel the attack, and Abington Heights' plate discipline (nine walks!) proved too much for the Cougars to overcome.
When it was over, it wasn’t just another win — it was a statement. And Nick Bradley stood right at the center of it.
