The Bombers cruised to a 15-5 win over the Fightins in the Lackawanna League’s Field of Dreams Game, held Saturday at the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders’ PNC Field. The showcase featured 42 senior all-stars from across the league.
The Bombers exploded for six runs in the first inning and never looked back. Their offense stayed hot with four more runs in the sixth and four additional runs in the eighth, extending their lead to 15-3. They capped the game with two more runs in the ninth.
Strong performances included:
Anthony Balashaitis (Mid Valley): Walked, stole home, and scored the game’s first run.
CJ McGee (Montrose): Pitched effectively under pressure, ending a key inning with a strikeout to preserve a 7-1 lead.
Matt Iezzi (Dunmore): RBI single in the first, scoring two runs.
Tate Pentasuglio (Abington Heights): Reached home on a wild pitch and hit an RBI single.
JP Kehoe (Abington Heights): Scored twice, including on a fielder’s choice and later a walk.
