The Blue Ridge Little League 11U All-Stars are officially 2025 District 15 Champions — and they did it in unforgettable fashion this past Saturday.

With a perfect 6-0 record through district play, Blue Ridge capped off a historic undefeated run — the first of its kind in District 15 in 20 years — with a gritty 6-4 championship win over Athens on June 28th. From the dugout to the outfield, every player contributed to a team-first mentality that powered them to victory.

The win was highlighted by a combination of clutch hitting, strong pitching, and aggressive base running. Owen Benson kick-started the scoring in the second inning with a game-tying RBI single. One inning later, Joe Tingley ripped a two-run double that gave Blue Ridge control of the game. Wyatt Wodock followed with another key RBI hit, extended the lead to 5-2, and added three stolen bases to keep the pressure on Athens’ defense.

On the mound, Colton Dukerich delivered a dominant 4.1-inning start, allowing just four hits and three runs while striking out nine. Jacob Brown took over in relief and locked in the final outs to seal the championship.

Tingley and Noah Stalker each tallied two hits to lead the offense, which showed impressive patience at the plate with eight total walks. Blue Ridge’s aggressive style continued on the base paths with six stolen bases, proving their all-gas-no-brakes approach.

But the real story of this team is about heart, hustle, and unity. The coaching staff — Woody Wodock, Steve Champang, and Thatcher Thomas — have not only led the boys to wins but have helped build a team culture rooted in resilience, teamwork, and character.

The community’s pride was on full display Saturday night with a championship parade to honor the team’s accomplishment. Organized with the support of Blue Ridge Little League President Shane Decker and Susquehanna Area Little League President Amy Skiba, the celebration was made even more special by the involvement of local fire departments. Huge thanks go to Great Bend Hose Company #1, Hallstead Fire Company, Columbia Hose Company, and the Susquehanna Fire Department for escorting the team through town, lights flashing and sirens blaring.

The parade wrapped up at Legion Field, where players were welcomed by family, friends, and supporters — a fitting end to a day that showcased what community, dedication, and teamwork can achieve.

With the District 15 banner now theirs, Blue Ridge advances to the Sectional Playoffs in District 24. Their next challenge awaits — but one thing’s for sure: this group is ready to keep the momentum rolling.
