Lake-Lehman continued its dominant stretch on the diamond with a convincing 10-2 victory over Wyoming Area on Monday, powered by a near-flawless outing from Hannah Chipego and an offensive surge led by freshman Brooke Reilly.
Chipego dazzled once again in the circle, tossing a complete game one-hitter with eight strikeouts and no earned runs across seven innings. She also contributed offensively, going 2-for-4 and scoring twice.
Freshman standout Reilly delivered a clutch performance at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with four RBIs, including a key bases-clearing hit in the fourth inning that helped Lake-Lehman break the game open.
Kirsten Finarelli, one of the state’s top hitters, added to her impressive season by going 3-for-3, scoring four runs, and boosting her batting average to .591. Kaitlyn Brudnicki also stayed hot, tallying two hits and two runs scored, while Alexis Shotwell chipped in a two-run single in the sixth.
Lake-Lehman jumped out to an early lead with two runs in the first and continued to apply pressure throughout, plating runs in five of the first six innings. The Black Knights’ balanced attack totaled 13 hits, overwhelming Wyoming Area’s pitching.
With the win, Lake-Lehman improves to 7-1 on the season, showing they are a force to be reckoned with in both league and non-league play.
