JESSUP — A rainy evening gave way to championship glory under the lights at the Jessup Youth Sports Complex, as the Valley View All-Stars 9-10-11 captured the PENNSYLVANIA 9-11 YEAR OLD DISTRICT 32 CHAMPIONSHIP with a dominant 14-0 win over Wallenpaupack on Tuesday night.

The game, originally scheduled for 5:30 PM, was delayed due to heavy downpours and didn’t get underway until 8:00 PM. But once the lights came on, so did Valley View’s bats — and they wasted no time delivering a statement performance.

Bryce Warnetsky got things started with a bases-loaded walk to bring home the game’s first run. Enzo Nicastro followed with an RBI single, and then Elio Brunori stepped in and launched a towering grand slam to center field that broke the game wide open and electrified the Valley View crowd. Chase B and Jack Zadarosni added two more RBI walks to make it 8-0 before Wallenpaupack recorded a single out.

Elio Brunori finished with 4 RBIs, while Enzo N went 2-for-3 with four of his own. Mason B was a force on both sides of the ball, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and three stolen bases — and tossing four shutout innings with 10 strikeouts, just two hits, and two walks.

Kody M reached base all three times, scoring three runs on a 2-for-2 effort with a walk. Talon P added a double, two walks, and scored three times. Defensively, Valley View was flawless, committing no errors and getting a standout effort from catcher Bryce W, who recorded 10 putouts behind the plate.

Wallenpaupack showed plenty of fight. Ben V reached base twice, including a single, and Patrick T added a base hit of his own. On defense, they were clean as well — committing zero errors — with Jeffrey W leading the way with four putouts.

While Valley View took home the win and the championship, both teams showcased great sportsmanship, energy, and determination in a game that saw young athletes give it their all under pressure and bright lights.
