Bellefonte Tops Greater Pittston Township in 10U State Opener, GPT Looks Ahead to Elimination Bracket

DRUMS, PA — In the opening round of the Pennsylvania 10U Little League State Tournament, Greater Pittston Township faced off against a sharp Bellefonte & Vicinity squad and fell by a score of 8-0 on Monday afternoon.
Bellefonte, the Section 4 champions, set the tone early with a three-run single from Crew Cunningham in the top of the first. GPT starter Rocco Skula settled in after the early surge, striking out two and keeping the game within reach across 2.2 innings of work.
Bellefonte added to their lead in the third when Kobie Urbanik delivered an RBI single down the right field line. Urbanik led Bellefonte’s offense with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, while Cunningham chipped in two RBIs.
Joseph Basile collected the lone hit for GPT and helped turn a clean double play in the field—a defensive highlight for a team that continued to show hustle and heart throughout.
