Andrew Kettel, a prominent figure in Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA) basketball, has decided to step down as the head coach of Keystone College's men's basketball team after two seasons. This move allows him to dedicate more time to his family.

Coaching Journey

Kettel's coaching career began at Lackawanna Trail, where he led the boys' basketball team for six seasons, achieving a 77-71 record. He then took the reins at Scranton Preparatory School, guiding the Cavaliers to eight District 2 championships over a decade. In April 2023, Kettel transitioned to collegiate coaching at Keystone College. During his tenure, he achieved his 300th career win, marking a significant milestone in his coaching journey.

Community Engagement

Beyond the court, Kettel has been a driving force in the NEPA basketball community. He established the Coaches vs. Cancer initiative in the region, raising over $3 million for the American Cancer Society. His efforts have not only supported cancer research but also united the community through basketball events.

Looking Ahead

Kettel's departure from coaching underscores his commitment to family. While his presence on the sidelines will be missed, his legacy in NEPA basketball and his contributions to cancer fundraising will continue to inspire.
