CLARKS SUMMIT — The rain cleared, but the runs kept pouring in.

In a back-and-forth battle under the lights at Ackerly Field, Abington outlasted South Scranton 15-10 in a wild Minors All-Star matchup Wednesday night that featured plenty of offense, plate discipline, and momentum swings.

South Scranton jumped out early with five runs in the top of the first, fueled by a wave of patience at the plate. Jackson Kane, William Loftus, Eli Santoski, and Rocco Baresse all drew walks, and a passed ball added another run in a frame where Scranton capitalized on every opportunity.

Abington quickly responded in the bottom half, erupting for six runs on four hits. The inning’s biggest swing came on a fielder’s choice by Timmy Deschaine that plated two runs, flipping the lead 6-5 in favor of the home team.

Scranton wasn’t done yet, reclaiming the lead in the second with another three runs as Kane and Loftus worked more walks and Aali Muhammad grounded into a productive out to bring in a run. But Abington once again had an answer.

The bottom of the second saw Abington explode for seven more runs on four hits. Deschaine delivered again with a two-RBI single, and Connor Mitchell added a clutch two-run knock to highlight the inning and push Abington ahead 13-8.

Abington tacked on one more in the third when Jordan Schoenburg ripped a double to right field. Deschaine finished with four RBIs on the night, leading a patient Abington offense that totaled 10 walks. Schoenburg had a perfect 2-for-2 performance at the plate, while Mitchell and David Kalechitz added key contributions.

Deschaine started on the mound and worked through early trouble, surrendering one hit and eight runs (seven earned) over 1.1 innings while striking out three. Mitchell, Kalechitz, and Stephen Strauch handled relief duties to keep the game under control.

South Scranton made the most of just two hits, with Dakarai Walters and Tristen Vansickle collecting one apiece. Santoski, Muhammad, Baresse, Walters, and Loftus all chipped in RBIs. Loftus also showcased patience with a team-best three walks and led the defense with five clean fielding chances. Julian Peters added speed to the equation, swiping four bags.
