Abington Heights pulled away in the middle quarters Friday night to post a 45–7 win over Valley View in Clarks Summit. The Comets’ rushing attack piled up 307 yards and three different backs reached the end zone as they controlled the line of scrimmage throughout the game.

After a scoreless first quarter, Abington Heights took charge in the second. Nick Bradley finished off two drives with short touchdown runs from 1 and 13 yards before finding Jayden Anglin on a 13-yard pass play with just over a minute left in the half. That quick surge gave the Comets a 21–0 cushion at the break.

Halftime was unexpectedly extended when Valley View players were unable to access the visiting locker room. The Cougars had to wait for Abington Heights staff to open the doors, delaying the start of the second half and contributing to a late finish.

Once play resumed, the Comets stayed in control. Jack Hartshorn opened the third quarter scoring with a 28-yard field goal, and Anglin followed with an 18-yard touchdown run to make it 31–0. Valley View responded with its best series of the night, capped when Tristan Smith punched in from four yards out. Braden Loff added the extra point to trim the deficit to 31–7 with 1:19 left in the third.

Abington Heights quickly answered. Anthony Severs broke through for a 4-yard score early in the fourth, and Jacob Barrish closed the night with a 29-yard touchdown run. Hartshorn was perfect on all six of his PATs to go along with his field goal.

Anglin led the way with 155 yards on 19 carries and also caught two passes, including a touchdown. Bradley complemented him with 59 rushing yards on just eight carries and accounted for three total scores. Severs and Barrish combined for 54 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Valley View was limited to 82 rushing yards on 28 attempts. Caleb Brown completed six passes for 101 yards, with Gabe Davis providing most of the spark downfield by hauling in three receptions for 84 yards. Smith’s rushing touchdown stood as the Cougars’ lone score, while Loff handled the kicking duties.

By the numbers, the Comets finished with 17 first downs to the Cougars’ 10 and outgained them 370–183 in total offense. The balance of Abington Heights’ attack and its ability to convert in the red zone made the difference in a one-sided outcome.
