In a dominant display of offense, Abington Heights High School overwhelmed Scranton High School with a 17-2 win on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. The Comets came out swinging, scoring four runs in the first inning and exploding for eight more in the second, leaving the Knights struggling to keep pace.
Leading the charge for Abington Heights was Thomas LaCoe, who went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Derek Locker added three hits and two RBIs, while Harshal Patel’s three-run double in the first set the tone early. Hunter Pentasuglio also contributed with two hits and four RBIs.
On the mound, J.P. Kehoe pitched four solid innings, allowing just two runs on six hits while striking out three, securing the win for the Comets.
Scranton struggled to find their rhythm both at the plate and on the mound. Logan Wahlers gave up 11 runs (six earned) in just one inning, while the Knights managed only six hits, with Parker Woznick and Logan Wahlers each recording an RBI.
Abington Heights showcased their depth and versatility, putting pressure on Scranton from the first pitch. With this victory, the Comets continue their strong start to the season, proving they are a force to be reckoned with in the league.
