2024-2025 WVC Division 2 Girls Coaches’ All-Stars: A Season of Excellence
The Wyoming Valley Conference (WVC) Division 2 Girls Coaches’ All-Stars list is out, and it features a group of players who have dominated the hardwood throughout the season. These athletes have displayed elite skill, leadership, and impact for their respective teams, earning recognition from the coaches who witnessed their performances firsthand.
MVP: Ella Wilson (Lake-Lehman, Sr.)
Wilson proved to be the backbone of Lake-Lehman’s success this season, leading her team with an outstanding 396 total points. She was efficient from all areas of the floor, making 154 field goals and knocking down 31 three-pointers. Her ability to get to the free-throw line was crucial, hitting 60 of 85 attempts. Wilson’s offensive production and leadership made her a clear choice for Most Valuable Player.
Player of the Year (POTY): Ella Stambaugh (Wyoming Seminary, So.)
Stambaugh had a season to remember, posting 515 total points, the highest among the All-Stars. Her scoring efficiency was remarkable, with 165 field goals made and 43 three-pointers. Additionally, her accuracy at the charity stripe was impressive, as she converted 126 of 158 free-throw attempts. As only a sophomore, Stambaugh has already cemented herself as one of the most lethal scorers in the WVC.
Coach of the Year (COTY): Charlie Lavan (Lake-Lehman)
Lavan guided Lake-Lehman to another successful campaign, developing players and creating a system that allowed stars like Wilson and Kinley Purdy to thrive. His strategic approach and ability to maximize his roster earned him the Coach of the Year honor.
First-Team All-Stars
Bella Boylan (Holy Redeemer, Jr.)
Boylan was a dominant force in the paint, recording 264 total points while showcasing an efficient inside game with 117 field goals. She added 11 three-pointers, demonstrating versatility in her offensive skillset.
Kate Reed (Nanticoke, Jr.)
Reed was an elite sharpshooter this season, leading all All-Stars with 53 three-pointers. She racked up 257 total points, proving to be a major offensive catalyst for Nanticoke.
Megan Albrecht (Holy Redeemer, Sr.)
Albrecht was a well-rounded offensive threat, compiling 276 points with 91 made field goals. She was also a steady presence at the free-throw line, converting 73 of 108 attempts.
Brooke Kroptavich (Holy Redeemer, Sr.)
Another standout from Holy Redeemer, Kroptavich provided 223 total points, with 87 field goals and 8 three-pointers. She was a crucial piece of the Royals’ balanced attack.
Kinley Purdy (Lake-Lehman, Fr.)
Purdy made an immediate impact in her freshman campaign, tallying 300 points while knocking down 119 field goals. Her ability to stretch the floor was on display with 18 three-pointers.
Second-Team All-Stars
McKenzie Chirnock (Holy Redeemer, Jr.)
Chirnock was a solid all-around contributor, scoring 255 points with 82 field goals and 30 three-pointers. She also made 61 of 86 free throws, showing her reliability at the line.
Kathryn Morgan (Lake-Lehman, Jr.)
Morgan was an important piece for Lake-Lehman, adding 199 total points with 83 field goals. Her 7 three-pointersprovided an extra scoring punch.
Ellie Kersey (Wyoming Seminary, So.)
Kersey complemented Stambaugh well at Wyoming Seminary, scoring 154 total points while hitting 26 three-pointers.
Lourianna Alston (Tunkhannock, Sr.)
Alston was a dominant presence for Tunkhannock, leading her team with 232 points. She attacked the paint effectively, knocking down 93 field goals and hitting 38 of 80 free throws.
Nevaeh Baran (Nanticoke, Jr.)
Baran played a crucial role for Nanticoke, amassing 258 points while showcasing an aggressive approach with 80 field goals and 16 three-pointers.

This year’s WVC Division 2 All-Stars proved to be some of the most talented and productive players in the region. With young stars like Stambaugh, Purdy, and Kersey already making their mark, the future of WVC girls’ basketball is bright.
