Valley View Edges Mid Valley in Thrilling Five-Set Victory
Valley View pulled off a hard-fought 3-2 win over Mid Valley in a Lackawanna League volleyball match, keeping their hopes alive for a District 2 Class 3A playoff berth. The Cougars triumphed with set scores of 14-25, 25-16, 25-20, 10-25, and 15-12.
Cora Gallagher and Hanarra Timas led the charge for Valley View with 10 kills apiece, while Reilly Sprague added nine kills. Madison Hallock played a pivotal role, contributing 13 service points and 27 assists. Layla Marino had an outstanding performance at the service line, tallying 11 aces, 21 service points, and four digs.
For Mid Valley, Aubrey Comstock stood out with eight aces, Mackenzie Richards added eight kills, Arianna Vitaletti led the defense with 13 digs, and Olivia Parry contributed seven digs.
With the win, Valley View improved to 7-10 overall and 6-8 in the league, while Mid Valley dropped to 2-13 overall and 1-12 in league play. Valley View remains in contention for a playoff spot as the season winds down.
