District 11 Football: Top 10 Changes and Week 6 Recap

As we move into Week 7 of the high school football season, several shakeups have emerged in the District 11 Top 10 rankings, influenced by the results of Week 6. Teams have battled to keep or climb spots in the rankings, while some have fallen due to tough losses.
Week 6 Results Shape the New Rankings:
1. Freedom (1)
Freedom maintained their top spot, continuing to prove why they’re the team to beat in District 11. A dominant victory over East Stroudsburg South (40-14) kept them at #1, cementing their status as a powerhouse.
2. Liberty (2)
Liberty also held onto their #2 ranking with a commanding win over East Stroudsburg North (39-0). Their defense was suffocating, as they completely shut out their opponent and continued to assert themselves as a top contender.
3. Parkland (3)
Parkland came away with a huge win over William Allen (45-0), demonstrating their elite status as they remain in the #3 spot. Their offense was clicking on all cylinders, and their defense pitched a shutout.
4. Easton (4)
Easton stays in the #4 position after a convincing 43-14 victory over Stroudsburg. Their balanced attack showed off their versatility, ensuring their place among the elite teams.
5. Emmaus (5)
Emmaus dropped their game against Allentown Central Catholic (38-6) but managed to hold onto their #5 ranking. Despite the loss, they remain in the top half of the rankings due to their strong start to the season.
6. Blue Mountain (6)
Blue Mountain continued their winning ways with a resounding 63-13 victory over Palisades. Their offense was relentless, and the team remains steady at #6 in the rankings.
7. Northampton (8 → 7)
Northampton moved up one spot, climbing to #7 after a solid 42-6 win over Pocono Mountain West. Their strong performance earned them the boost as they leapfrogged over Nazareth in the rankings.
8. Nazareth (6 → 8)
Nazareth slides down two spots from #6 to #8 after a loss to Pleasant Valley (60-7). The defeat was a tough one, pushing them further down the standings despite their earlier dominance.
9. Southern Lehigh (10 → 9)
Southern Lehigh improved their ranking by moving up one spot to #9. A dominant 56-12 victory over Jim Thorpe helped them climb in the standings, continuing their steady rise.
10. East Stroudsburg South (9 → 10)
East Stroudsburg South slips one spot to #10 after a difficult loss to Freedom (40-14). They remain in the Top 10, but their positioning is now more precarious.
Notable Week 6 Games Recap:
• Allentown Central Catholic 38, Emmaus 6
Allentown Central Catholic stunned Emmaus with a commanding 38-6 victory. Emmaus was unable to generate much offense as Central Catholic dominated on both sides of the ball.
• Freedom 40, East Stroudsburg South 14
Freedom continued to show why they are the top-ranked team, taking control early and cruising to a 40-14 win. East Stroudsburg South had no answer for Freedom’s well-rounded attack.
• Parkland 45, William Allen 0
Parkland’s high-powered offense and stingy defense were on full display in their shutout of William Allen. The win keeps them in the hunt for the top spot in District 11.
• Nazareth 60, Pleasant Valley 7
Nazareth dominated Pleasant Valley, putting up 60 points in a lopsided victory. However, despite the big win, they still fell in the rankings due to other performances around the district.

As we move forward, all eyes will be on the matchups involving top-ranked teams. Freedom looks to continue their dominance, while Liberty, Parkland, and Easton will aim to maintain their strong positioning. Teams like Northampton and Southern Lehigh will look to climb further up the rankings with more strong performances.
