As the fall season winds down, the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Men's Soccer team reflects on a challenging yet rewarding journey. Freshman Iman Fashina, one of the team's promising newcomers, shared his insights on the season so far.
“The season has not been easy,” Fashina admitted. “We’ve faced our share of challenges, but I’m really proud of my teammates. Many stepped up to contribute, and it’s been inspiring to see our growth together.”
Transitioning from high school to college athletics can be daunting, but Fashina found invaluable support in his roommate and teammate, Chris. “He’s been a huge help for me,” Fashina explained. “I actually called him to join the team because I knew we could push each other to improve. We work in tandem, and that synergy has really benefited both of us on the field.”
With the current season coming to a close, Fashina has already begun to set his sights on next year. “I want to focus on improving my fitness, power, and strength,” he stated. “My goal is to come back as a better player overall. I know there’s always room for improvement, and I’m excited for the challenge.”
As Iman Fashina and his teammates prepare to wrap up this season, it’s clear that the bonds they’ve formed and the lessons they’ve learned will pave the way for future success on the pitch. With determination and support, the young athlete is poised to make his mark at Penn State Wilkes-Barre.
